Juniper is an innovative project that allows ETH holders to access cash without selling their crypto.
The company approached me and asked me to work on their website and an app - both desktop & mobile. While the foundations of their brand were already established, I still had an opportunity to work on visual language for illustrations and various additional visual assets.
Main Flow
The main goal of the app was to allow users to sign up, create a wallet, connect their card, stake ETH, and get access to cash right away. It also allowed the users to track their spending, repay, stake more ETH, or add multiple cards and put spending limits on them.
Understanding the DeFi World
Juniper was not designed for crypto veterans. If you are one, you probably won't use it. The product was made with "casual" crypto holders in mind who just want to access its monetary value without worrying about the coin's volatility.
Therefore, it was critical to make sure that all crypto-specific terms were well explained in the app and that the users knew what they signed up for. We came up with many guides and onboarding flows to make sure all the mechanisms in the product are well understood and explained in plain, approachable language.
Digital Desert
Juniper is supposed to feel serene, safe, and approachable, but at the same time digital and futuristic. To the original brand, which included a calm color palette and great, AI-generated, sci-fi imagery, I added digitally altered images and animations of the juniper tree and retrofuturistic illustrations.
